Top 5 Tips for Seychelles Holiday Travel Packing

Do you have every detail of your holiday booked and ready, down to the guesthouse in Seychelles? But before you can dream of lying on the sandy white beaches of Source D’argent, you still have to pack. When it comes to packing, there is always the question “what do I pack?”. Even the most experienced travellers have this question run across their minds and one point or another. I will share with you 5 top tips that will help ease the stress of packing.

1. LOCATION AND CLIMATE:

When packing there are a few things that you need to consider, these are your location and climate that you will be in. If you are going to the snowy alps of Canada then shorts and t-shirts shouldn't be high on your list. Whilst if you are going on a family vacation in Seychelles (a collection of beautiful islands off the coast of Africa) then a big thick coat should not be in your bag. Just use your common sense, what will you need? Do a little research on what the weather will be like as well, this can help you in making that decision.

2. PACK LIGHT:

You may have booked that guesthouse in Seychelles with a pool, but that does not mean that you need 20 bathing suits to go with it. When it comes to packing, you only need to take the bare minimum. With clothing, go for neutral colours, things that go together with more than one item. Also keep space for shopping purchases; there is nothing worse than getting ready to go home and realizing that everything doesn't fit into your bag.

3. MAKE A LIST:

I find this to be a very useful thing to have. Apart from the obvious fact that lists are good way for you to know what you will be needing, but also as you pack things in your suitcase, tick off the items as they go in. This is a good technique that saves you unpacking your entire bag because you aren't too sure if you packed a particular item or not. Organization is the key to a smooth flowing trip.

4: PACK IN ADVANCE:

Do not leave all your packing to the very last night. There is nothing worse than realizing you need to buy something a night before you're supposed to leave. I'm not saying you need to pack a week in advance, but give it 2 or 3 days, which will give you the time to make sure you are fully equipped with all that you need. Don't just assume because you are going on a family vacation in Seychelles, that mum or dad is going to have the suncream you need to stop you looking like a tomato from all the sunbathing on the beaches of Source D’argent.

5. THE ESSENTIALS:

As dreamy as that guesthouse in Seychelles and soaking up the sun on the white sands of Source D’argent may sound, you won't be getting very far without the essentials. I'm talking, passport, tickets, accommodation references, ID, and money. Without these things you won't be going anywhere. It’s not so bad if you forget things like clothes or your bathing suit, these things you can buy when you are there, but the essentials are what you must have with you, so remember to double check before you leave the house.

6. WHERE TO STAY:

Villa Authentique is the best vacation guesthouse to stay, it is situated at La Digue, Seychelles, just 300 metres from La Digue Harbour. Villa Authentique offers air-conditioned, modern rooms including single, double, triple rooms and family suits. You can enjoy authentique creole cuisine at the restaurant. Top 5 Reasons to Choose Seychelles for your Next Holiday and Vacation

Planning your next holiday in Seychelles? Good choice, these 115 islands scattered in the Indian ocean, just northeast from the coast of Madagascar, offer a desirable destination of white sands lapped by crystal clear turquoise waters and backed up by rolling green hills, bustling with wildlife. So why choose your next vacation in Seychelles? I am here to give you 5 great reasons.

1. ISLAND HOPPING:

Take hold of the great opportunity to see more than one island on your Seychelles Holiday. Island hop between 16 of the breathtaking islands that currently offer accommodation. For a luxury yet not so expensive experience check yourself into a La Digue Guesthouse, Villa Authentique, La Digue is the third largest inhabited island of the Seychelles, which offers a range of activities from snorkeling to beautiful trails, where you can have a look around some of La Digues finest beaches, and check out the giant boulders that are dotted around the place.

2. BIRD WATCHING:

Mahe is Seychelles largest Island, and one you should definitely add to your travel list whilst on your Seychelles Holiday. From Mahe you get a view of smaller islands of Praslin and La Digue, which you can reach by either using the speedy Cat Cocos ferry to Praslin (45 minutes) or for a more relaxing ride, a Cargo Schooner which takes you directly to the shores of La Digue. Here you can enjoy the effortless lifestyle and keep your eyes peeled for the Seychelles paradise-flycatcher, an endangered bird of which the locals are deeply proud. Need a place to crash, take a night out in Villa Authentique Seychelles, located in La Digue. Villa Authentique offers well equipped and comfortable rooms that will be the cherry on top of your vacation.

3. HIDDEN BEACHES:

Seychelles has some of the most photographed beaches in the world, that are known for their beauty. Beaches along the likes of Anse Major and Anse Source d’Argent offer stretches of powdery white sand, a place where you can relax and forget about the world. Many of Seychelles beaches are only accessible by foot or fishing boat, which just adds to the mystery and adventure for your ideal island castaway trip.

4. ACTIVITIES:

Once sunbathing on the beach has gotten too much for you, Seychelles offers a range of different activities to keep you occupied like horseback riding, golf, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, powerboat excursion and other activities that will keep you wanting more. Finished with a full day and just wanting to relax? There are many Vacation Resorts in Seychelles that will give you just what you need.

5. GO FOR A SPIN:

Fancy the sound of zooming around the islands on your Seychelles holiday. Located on Eden Island (connected to the main island Mahe by a small bridge) is home to Buggy & Jeep. Buggy & Jeep is the official dealer on the island of Seychelles giving you a chance to explore the island in style in either a Meyers manx Buggy, Secma Vehicles and Ducati Motorbikes. I'd rather take one of these instead of the bus, wouldn't you?

Top 5 Mistakes to Avoid When Planning a Holiday

Planning on getting away? Heading to a luxury vacation resort in Seychelles for your perfect Seychelles holiday? or even to the busy streets of London to get a taste of the English culture? Whatever your plans may be, I'm here to give you the best tips for surviving holiday travel.

Holiday travel doesn't need to be stressful and something you dread. It can be easy if you know the right way to go about it. As a traveler myself, I have picked up a few tips and tricks that have made my travels so much more smooth running.

1- DON'T OVER PLAN:

Over Planning is the worst thing you can do. Don't get me wrong, it is good to have a plan, but a general layout works better than an in depth plan on what you are going to do at every minute of the day. (For example, going on your Seychelles holiday, and knowing that you are going to stay in a La Digue Guesthouse or in another vacation resort in Seychelles. This is that basic knowledge that you need to know). Over Planning just leads to stress if it doesn't go the way you want it to. Its good to have a general idea on things you may do or see but also remember to leave space for unintended things. Just go with the flow.

2- SHOP AROUND:

Say you are booking yourself a couple nights in at a Hotel for your Seychelles holiday, you look online and there is one place that catches your eye, but if you look around it may be cheaper elsewhere, say at the Villa Authentique Seychelles. When it comes to traveling, from booking flights to booking accommodation, it is a good idea to shop around, see what offers are happening with other companies, you never know, you could strike a better deal elsewhere and save yourself the extra cash.

3- DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK:

Especially when it comes to traveling to foreign places, travelers get shy and don’t like to ask for help when they get stuck. Never be afraid to go up and ask people, it will save you time in the end.

4- CHECK YOUR AIRPORTS:

This applies more when you are flying with budget airlines such as Easyjet or Ryanair. Most of these airports are located a little bit further out from a city. The flight itself may be cheap but remember to check the travel costs getting to and from the airport. It may turn out that is is more expensive to buy your ticket and try to get to your destination from the airport, compared to paying a little bit more to fly with another airline to a closer airport. Just remember to check the costs before you travel.

5- TIMING IS EVERYTHING:

It is very important when traveling to get your timings right. Make sure you double check times for trains and flights, so you are updated on what is going on. It’s always better to be early and not having to rush, then to be late and missing that Seychelles holiday.

5 Tips for Avoiding Holiday Travel Hassels

Going on holiday can be stressful before it’s relaxing, from booking holiday accommodation in Seychelles to booking flights to South Africa. Wherever you are going, it always contains some sort of organizing in one way or another. So before your hair starts falling out with stress, let me give you some tips on how to avoid those holiday travel issues and still have an amazing holiday.

 1. BOOK IN ADVANCE:

The more you sit around hoping that the prices will drop even further from that special offer (for example, holidays in Seychelles), the more money you lose. See last minute deals only for in your favor if you are flexible on the time and the destination, and they usually start really cheap and then as the date comes closer, the price creeps higher. Afternoon flights are usually more expensive compared to early morning or late and night. You may not be a morning person, but if you are wanting a cheap flight, you may have to get up early (I’m talking about those 3am wake ups, so you can catch that 7am flight out).  Prices for flights can vary dramatically depending on the departure time and time of week. Sometimes including a Saturday in your travels can save you quite a significant amount. If you leave on a Friday and return on a Monday is an example of this. The reason for this is the way airlines work with hotels and tour organisers to create packages that are advantageous to them.

2. TRY TO AVOID THE BUSIEST DAYS:

When it comes to traveling, you want to try avoid days like New Year's and Christmas, days like these are when airports and train stations are at their busiest, not to mention that holiday accommodation in Seychelles will go from affordable Seychelles to expensive Seychelles prices during these times. Sometimes waiting a day or even a week – or booking a week before can save you a huge amount on fares.

3. AVOID TOO MANY CONNECTIONS:

Although trips with more connections (applying more with the train then in flying) may be cheaper, try to avoid too many because that way you will have a higher risk of missing your transportation due to delays or missing your connections. This is a risk not many people consider and it can be a very unpleasant experience missing one flight and having to reschedule the next three because of it.

4. GET PLENTY OF REST:

Traveling when you are tired can lead to more hassles because you are not as aware and organised as you would be when you are feeling fresh. Also during your holiday give yourself a day or two extra to wind down. Jet lag takes a day or two to get over so keep rested so you can make the most out of your holidays in Seychelles, Hawaii, Berlin or wherever your destination is. You can also minimise jet lag by eating at your regular times where possible so your body is not in shock from disrupted eating patterns. This makes a huge difference to the impact of jet lag – it’s proven!

5. SKIP THE QUEUE:

Nowadays when it come to flying, you can do all your booking tickets and even checking yourself in online. Save yourself the time of having to stand in a queue and use the airlines online service to check you in, leaving only the bare minimum left to do (like checking in your bag and going through security).

Using these tips will minimise your holiday hassles and lead to a more enjoyable and smooth running trip. Just remember to take a deep breath when needed and don't over-exert yourself.
